Who re-designed themselves at Semi-Permanent 2016?

Last weekend, New Zealand’s premier creative event met New Zealand’s premier fashion labels, Crane Brothers & Kate Sylvester through The Ponds sponsorship promotion. Semi-Permanent Auckland 2016, was an event attended by many and Re-Design Yourself 2016 was a competition entered by over 1000  - hardly surprising given high-end fashion and aesthetically pleasing design comes hand in hand. So, without much further ado, let us present to you the winners of Re-Design Yourself 2016…

Matt Smith – Graphic & Interior Designer

Not only a happy, stylish winner, but an extremely talented one too. Matt is the creator of Common - a creative studio guided by his singular vision.

Utilising a network of friends and like minded companies as needed, COMMON is able to bring together the best suited people to complete a project - be it a concept, design or the execution of a project from beginning to very end. COMMON capabilities include - Creative direction, naming, logo and identity work, commercial interior design, residential design, exhibition design, furniture design, product design, packaging design and publishing direction and design.

Julia Ford – Footwear Designer

Julia, the other extremely talented winner off the ranks is the Head of design and sales at Kathryn Wilson Footwear.

Born and raised in Auckland, Julia always knew she wanted to work in fashion, and has been designing her own imaginary clothing and accessories line since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Julia has recently been travelling around the country with the Kathryn Wilson SS16 collections.

Looking towards the future, Julia would love to keep designing great ranges of footwear and accessories, hopefully find new and interesting challenges within the industry - all doing so looking sharper than ever in her new Kate Sylvester gear.

Congratulations to you both! Enjoy the envious looks from friend or foe alike. See you all in 2017!
