Copy-lead Creatives, step right up. Our client is seeking a Creative Director superstar to slot seamlessly into a tight-knit, uber-successful, team.  

This role requires an inherently strong writer who can work across multiple mediums and channels from native media content and digital to direct, above the line and B2B.

Empathy, teamwork and mentorship will be words will be etched into the candidate’s vocab – as a leader within a small team of 10, they’ll need to slot seamlessly into the agency. Confidence is key, as is the ability to lead and assist on conceptual projects and campaigns providing direction two other graphic designers in the team and the odd freelance art director (as required).

The new Creative Lead will be key to taking the business where it needs to go, so creativity, energy, drive and ambition will be the main focus for the person joining the team. As well as creative excellence across all clients’ projects.

The person needs to be as much a writer and doer as much a big picture conceptual thinker.

They’ll be mature, established, may be awarded in their career and see themselves working in a small hands-on studio and sitting in a leadership team in coming years. 

Required Experience: 

  • Min 8+ years plus 'agency' experience
  • Proven background in B2B, writing, direct, advertising

 Required Skills:

  • Ideation and the ability to form strong concepts with a team and independently
  • Confident at writing long copy – articles, letters, content, social media, case studies, sales tools as well as campaign work
  • Ability to absorb and retain brands tone of voice and follow guidelines
  • Journalism or writing background outside of advertising
  • Excellent grammar and proof-reading skills
  • Creative project management; from conception through to campaign roll-out
  • Drive and liaise daily with internal stakeholders; designers, account managers & suppliers to get the job done
  • Budget management and reporting skills; monitor budgets to ensure projects are on track
  • Ability to manage external parties and key creative suppliers i.e. freelancers 

 Required Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Qualification (preferred)

 Salary Range:

  • $120 – 130k + Kiwisaver
