Creative & Design Lead

Our client is based in attractive offices in a CBD fringe village and has an enviable reputation for loyal clients. This is based on their quality work and steadfast relationships.

After several years the time has come to replace their Creative Director. They are seeking someone with creative flair, a commitment to design excellence,  attention to detail and a calm head under pressure. You’ll be a confident digital designer and also a proven designer for traditional media.

This is a small agile team with a friendly, positive culture. Working collaboratively is a must, and the ability to roll up your sleeves for each creative challenge will motivate you.

You’ll have a genuine understanding of the client's ‘bigger-picture’ needs and be able to harness the team and your skills to elevate the client's brand in a competitive NZ marketplace. Your work will connect and engage customers through quality design and advertising thinking.

The breakdown

We are looking for a Creative Director with:

• Min 8 years working in an advertising or design or digital design agency
• Experience leading other studio designers
• A professional approach, inclusive communication style, positive and doer
• Award-winning portfolio (a bonus)

You’ll have…

• Strong conceptual thinking across multiple mediums and channels, including Advertising, Digital, Design & Branding 
• Creative and design direction ability
• Experience across various traditional design and digital applications
• Digital and UI design, as this is 60% of the work
• Knowledge and experience developing and executing creative strategy in practice.
• Strong presentation skills to various stakeholders and clients
• Nurtured positive client and stakeholder relationships
• Confidence and ability to take the creative lead from start to finish
• Experience managing external partners – including Photographers, Illustrators etc.
• Confidence in managing your work pipeline to deliver different projects simultaneously
• Expert with the full Adobe Creative Suite and mac computer savvy

Mandatory requirements

• Relevant tertiary design/advertising qualification is preferable
• Must have the full right to work in NZ and currently reside here
