The ideal candidate needs to have sound commercial experience within the FMCG sector, solid pre-press understanding is crucial. The role requires a craft-focused design eye, coupled with a strategic mind. You’ll be able to take a brief from conception, all the while understanding and communicating the strategy of your design and it’s part within the consumer path to purchase.

Needless to say, you’ll be proficient with all things design, branding, ideation, layout and last but not least, a solid understanding of the print and pre-press process and how that relates to the real world package and product.

The successful candidate will contribute to each and every part of the process: from pitch to acceptance, planning, design direction, client presentations, to liaising with internal and external stakeholders and overseeing other creative team members as required. You will be no stranger to a packaging agency environment and will immerse yourself in the industry and its trends!


Required Experience:

  • Min 6 + years within a design agency
  • Confident across FMCG packaging and branding with portfolio examples to show - this is a MUST! 


Required Abilities:

  • Prepare in written form, the strategy, and design of a client brief, including analysis, justification, and rationale for the designs presented
  • Liaise with clients to take the brief and gather more information
  • Demonstrate understanding of the whole market in big picture terms, including world trends, competitors, client needs and target market
  • Ownership of timely development and implementation of the creative concept when approved
  • Liaise with production team once the client approves the concept, briefing the production team and directing the artwork, liaise and brief
  • Portfolio should show beautiful work, packaging, and brand that shows highly conceptual and crafted work
  • Solid understanding of in-store activation and POS experience to bring the brand to life.

Required Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification preferred

  • Humble (the team is too small for a ‘big ego’)
  • A passion for branding and design
  • Highly organised with the ability to multi-task
