If so, we've got a newly created senior role for a growing Healthcare/Life Sciences consultancy that you may like to consider.

Our client, an Auckland healthcare consultancy, is looking for a permanent Medical Marketing Content professional to join its growing team and drive new services in the greater content space.

This role requires someone who’s equally a wordsmith, researcher and strategist – they’ll have a background heavy in Healthcare/Life Sciences or Pharmacology and know clinical publications inside and out. Ideally, this person will have some agency commercial experience and exceptional attention to detail – accuracy is key, as is the need to pay attention to style, fact-checking, consistency of medical terminology.

A key part of this role will also be managing sales or channel pieces into client’s systems to be approved before going to market, experience with highly regulated promotional materials or using online industry standard approval systems.

This role is niche and requires someone engrossed in all corners of the Medical/Healthcare/Life Sciences industry (from mental health to diabetes and beyond) who not only deliver high-quality communications and education initiatives but also keep the team up-to-date with data, new references and developments in the disease or drug area of responsibility.  

The breakdown

We are looking for a Medical Writer & Content Lead with:

  • At least 8+ years’ commercial/technical writing experience in an agency/similar
  • Experience in Healthcare or Life Sciences or Pharmacology sectors

Some key responsibilities are:

  • Commercial Medical Writing & Content Ideation 
  • Medical Content Collation & Flow – including editing and referencing
  • Leadership of technical medical knowledge – solid knowledge of medical language and concepts in NZ/AU
  • Technical medical proof prints – research, referencing, anchoring and verifying material
  • Manage medical content submission process – using Veera approval platform
  • Lead literature awareness within the agency
  • Commercial and medical content strategy
  • Manage medical content projects
  • Team mentoring and development – including managing more junior team members, developing and growing the team including recruitment for new team members

Plus, proven results and experience in…

  • Developing and deliver high-quality, accurate medical communications
  • Client facing role – this person will be the main point of contact on matters of scientific content for clients so the ability to form close working relationships is key
  • Creating many types of educational materials and running different projects (e.g. manuscripts, slide decks, websites, training programs, advisory boards, standalone meetings, symposia, adverts, sales aids, product brochures)
  • Ability to lead discussions relating to assigned account /projects, at both a tactical and strategic level, with clients, thought leaders and internal colleagues
  • Experience collaborating with other senior team members to offer research-based strategic input to writing programs and proposals
  • Experience working with life Sciences approval systems such as Veera Promomats
