I had the great opportunity to work on the Australian Open 2017 re-brand this year.
After 30 years, Tennis Australia decided to change it up. Landor was hired to do the branding and I was hired to help with art direction and motion design, including a tvc and a 30 second Ident. Parts of this work was re-purposed for LED screen stadium animations and the bumbers for Tennis Australia's coverage on youtube.
The ident was created using Cinema 4d and After effects with Octane as the gpu rendering solution.
It was a lot of fun and an inventive way to show off a new look for The iconic Australian Open and a departure from your typical sport broadcast look.
