Bio

New Zealand born, with a glass half-full approach to life. I grew up by the coast, which grounds me to the beach and ultimately makes up an important piece of who I am. I have been in Auckland for the past 6 months working as a freelance designer through Portfolio Recruitment and The Pond, building relationships with clients and cultivating my experiences from Europe, which is where I spent the past NZ winter. During this trip, I was exposed to new cultures, art and architecture which was incredible to see as they all vary so much from country to country and massively to what we see in New Zealand. Having lived overseas for 7years with my family during my intermediate years, travel is a big part of who I am. I believe that time was a huge influence in life and travel in general continues to mould me.

I draw my current creative inspiration from light, photography and through some of incredibly creative people I am fortunate enough to surround myself with. Natural tones and simple typography are my muse, although pops of colour and quirky pieces that work in with minimalistic design align more with my personality. I have a developing interest in ceramics as a creative medium. Ultimately, as a designer I am wanting to connect with like-minded people and brands that have a strong standing and passionate purpose behind them. I love working with people who love what they do.

Recent Employment

Freelance Graphic Designer / Apr 2015 - Sep 2017 / Feb 2019 - Present / Self Employed

International

At the beginning of 2019, I started freelancing full time which allowed me to work in different sized agencies and businesses with a range of people. The projects varied a lot which allowed me to strengthen and broaden my skill set.

I have worked on many projects as an independent, freelance designer. Working with clients from all areas including musicians, cafe managers and small business owner. I have worked on a range of projects from full branding and identity, promotional print media through to web-based.

I love the flexibility freelance allows me to have as well as the opportunity to work on such a vast range of projects, to the point of carrying it on while I was travelling in Central and South America, where I was able to pick up work in both Guatemala and Colombia.

Graphic Designer / Nov 2017 - Feb 2019 / The Business Marketing Group Ltd

Auckland, New Zealand

I had the opportunity to work alongside some large FCMG brands while still I working within a small creative team - Creative Director and Senior Graphic Designer, to roll out large campaigns across print (point of sale for supermarkets, magazine ads, adshells, busbacks) and digital (large scale digi banners, web banners, digital adshells) for large brands such as Kraft/Heinz & Wattie’s and Gregg’s. I also worked on smaller scale projects for Hancocks specifically Jack Daniels, Constellation Brands and Smales Farm. A large portion of my day to day consisted of rolling out creatives for 14 different social media pages (instagram and facebook) those of which included Fujitsu General NZ, The Good Taste Company and Food in a Minute. I worked with my Senior Graphic Designer and the Social Media team on these and often had creative freedom based on the content written.

Junior Graphic Designer / Mar 2015 - Nov 2016 / MetroEXP The Production Agency

Auckland, New Zealand

This small agency allowed me to work with some great brands, those of who included Ford Motor Company, Pioneer Brand Products, Colab Projects and McGreals. The projects varied from catalogues, collateral, corporate stationary, eDM, signage and event branding to website design and management. A particularly awesome job that I was fortunate to work on was the Rio Olympics 2016 Village Dress for the New Zealand Olympic Committee which involved designing the Wall Murals for Athlete's lounge and apartment rooms, Building/Level Signage, Exterior dress design. I was involved in many projects at different stages throughout the creative and execution process. I had the opportunity to work solely on some, while others I was part of the execution design, bringing pieces to completion once the main creative was specified. Working this way allowed me to expand my skills in all areas.
