On behalf of our client, an established Solar Energy solutions company, The Pond Recruitment is searching for a Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate will be proven, well trained in sales and hungry for success and financial reward!

Having worked in Solar Energy is an obviously advantage, but not essential. You may be a sales pro with a personal passion for solar and sustainable energy solutions, or you may already be selling in a relevant sector like Infrastructure, Engineering or even Technology - products and services that require a technical sales approach for a bigger ticket investment from customers. Either way you’ll be looking for a change, progression and a real opportunity.

You’ll have superb communication skills, an established sales career and have worked in a role where you’ve had to carefully guide customers towards the sale - listening to their needs, handling objections and concerns throughout a confident and technically sound sales process.

You’ll enjoy working in a proven and supported sales environment with strong leadership, process and advanced tools, enabling you to leverage your natural business development skills and past experience to achieve results.

Day to day you’ll be responsible for managing your pipeline from inbound and referral sources, converting the leads generated by the business (that’s right, warm leads put on a plate for you to convert into $$$). You’ll work with focus and pace as you schedule calls and meetings, qualify prospects, present proposals and quotes, and of course deliver sales to meet monthly targets.

The breakdown

We are looking for an Sales Pro with:

  • 3+ years’ proven B2C sales experience.
  • Consultative sales experience in selling solar energy or similar high value, more complex consumer products (Infrastructure, Engineering, Tech etc)

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Use a consultative sales approach to maximise each lead and sales opportunity.
  • Building customer rapport and operating as a trusted advisor, delivering polished and professional sales presentations to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Effectively qualifying customer needs and wants and developing market leading solutions.
  • Manage and advance leads and prospects through CRM software, accurately recording all touchpoints & proactively scheduling next steps to effectively manage the sales pipeline.
  • Proactively driving results to continuously achieve sales targets - manage customer calls, communications, presentations and quotes.
  • Uncover all additional customer opportunities to cross and upsell.
  • Prepare and process sales orders, ensuring accuracy in information provided to the projects team to enable the accurate and smooth delivery of projects.
