Are you an experienced and proactive comms specialist who can quickly pull together comms plans and implement them? Are you also a great copywriter with a strong eye for detail? Can you manage media relations and corporate events and seminars?

We are after an expert for a 20-hour-a-week contract in the Auckland CBD to start immediately for 6 weeks.

The job involves communicating with brokers in the insurance sector, as well as media and internal staff. You’ll be creating engaging and persuasive content for various communication channels, including press releases, website content, LinkedIn posts, newsletters, internal communications, and more.

This company has offices in the APAC region and you will be working on comms for them as well as New Zealand.

The breakdown

We are looking for an experienced communications specialist who...

  • Enjoys working in the B2B space, including EDMs, LinkedIn management, events, sponsorship, and more.
  • Is an excellent writer and communicator

You’ll have expertise in:

  • Media Relations: Implementing press releases and being proactive for a positive story
  • Digital platforms management for the corporate website and Linked In social channels
  • Internal Communications, including providing people profiles, writing intranet content, and executive communications
  • Reports writing as required to stakeholders based on data-driven insights
  • Liaising & managing the PR, Digital, and Social Media agencies’ programmes and campaigns

You’ll need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
  • 5 years plus experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful communication initiatives and content creation.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and persuasive content for various audiences and channels.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with media outlets and demonstrated success in securing media coverage is a bonus
  • Digital and Social Media Proficiency
  • To be a great communicator and collaborator who gets things in!
  • Experience in the insurance or financial industry is a bonus

The reward

  • Hourly rate $75ph – $90ph for 20 hours a week (depending on experience)
  • 6-week contract
  • Some hybrid flexibility
  • Waterfront offices
