Are you a digital native, fluent in the colloquial and spinning out fresh ideas?  Do you write attention-grabbing headlines and deliver fun & engaging campaigns?  Is being mentored by awarded creatives and writing for social, video and print your next step?

Our client, a new creative agency, is seeking a dynamic Creative Copywriter to join the team. A key client provides higher education through New Zealand and Australia's universities and vocational colleges, so experience in writing for youth brands is preferred.

This is an excellent opportunity to step up in their career under the guidance of the Creative Director for copy direction, and team up with a talented Senior Art Director – both award-winning.

Whether teaming up with the Art Director or working individually, the successful candidate will be fluent in the colloquial. They’ll be proven at creating successful brands and effective campaigns for social media campaigns and creating engaging content for video, experiential, print collateral and OOH campaigns. They’ll craft the headlines and copy that brings the brand to life for the target audience. Experience writing blogs and be confident writing and editing for other formats e.g. print collateral.

The breakdown

 We are looking for a dynamic Creative Copywriter with:

  • 4+ years of creative agency experience or, in-house for youth brands.
  • Experience in writing for social campaigns and creating engaging content.
  • A portfolio of engaging work across a variety of formats.

Required Skills:

  • Ideation and the ability to form on-brand concepts.
  • Confident in writing content, social media, ad campaigns, and blogging.
  • Understand SEO when writing for social and online.
  • Absorb a brand’s tone of voice and develop it to be engaging.
  • Collaborate with the tight internal team on campaigns and work independently.
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Deliver on time and to budget (allocated hours) showing good project management.
  • Drive and liaise daily with the internal team and clients as required.
  • Budget management and reporting; keep projects cost-effective.
  • Being a digital native whose headlines and campaigns can engage teenagers and their whanau, is a bonus.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification or great work experience.

  • Ideas person who can write to deadlines for different brands and across different formats.

The reward

  • Salary $75 - 80k per annum
