Are you looking for a regular weekly part-time financial role? Are you someone who can bring strong financial acumen and discipline to a medium sized advertising agency business?

On behalf of our SME client, The Pond Recruitment is on the hunt for a self-starter and experienced part-time Financial Controller, someone who is over the 40-hour slog and looking to take half a step back into something part-time. This is a crucial role for this small dynamic business based in Central Auckland. You’ll be a passionate individual who enjoys working closely with owners/directors. You will have strong financial acumen and proven financial experience and will be happy to play the balance of accounts clerk and financial adviser (This role would suit a doer as much as a strategic thinker).

Day-to-day, under the direction of the owners, you will play an intricate role, providing both operational and strategic financial management and advice. You will be financially literate, with  proven financial experience (SME experience would help). You’ll be a motivated individual who can work to monthly and weekly deadlines and work independently without direction. The right candidate will have experience in full 360-degree accounting responsibilities i.e., payroll, management of accounts receivable and payable, client billing, month end reporting, tax and compliance payments.

Please note that the hours will range from 18-20 hours per week and it will be an in office-based role. The candidate who gets the position could stay a sole trader and invoice the employer weekly for their services or join the team on a part-time employment contract.

The breakdown

We are looking for…  

  • 10+ years of proven financial management experience
  • Any Advertising Agency experience would be useful
  • Healthcare or Pharmaceutical knowledge is a bonus

You’ll have experience in…

  • Daily Bank Reconciliations
  • Weekly Time Sheet reporting
  • Management of Accounts Payable from suppliers
  • Management of Accounts Receivable
  • Payroll processing
  • Month-end client billings
  • Month-end financial reporting and forecasting
  • PAYE and GST Payments
  • Preparing Annual Financial Statements
  • Provisional Tax Reporting            

Are you someone who is…

  • Super strong in EXCEL
  • Has the ability to work independently and to a deadline?
  • Experience handling accounts payable from agency suppliers?
  • Someone with payroll experience?
  • Financial and sales analysis and financial forecasting?

The reward

  • Hourly Rate $60.00 hour (sole trader)
  • Confirmed 18-20 hours a week
  • Fortnightly Pay
  • Monthly phone and internet allowance
  • New central Auckland office space – close to public transport
