Are you an ambitious and self managed sales pro with a knack for unlocking opportunities and converting new business? We are looking for someone special to join an independent digital media business in a newly positioned senior role, focused on revenue growth in the NZ market.

Our Auckland-based client, an established digital media-centred company, is looking to appoint a New Business Director. This role focuses on new business development, new client relationships, and overall revenue growth across NZ. We want someone industry-proven with commercial and business acumen, able to take the lead and drive new business with flare and style, providing value add digital and media-led solutions for NZ businesses.

You will be a self-starter and will be responsible for the management of new business planning, pitches and lead generation, pipeline management, and activities for which increased revenues/profits will be realised, while upholding the mission and values of the business. 

The successful applicant will have the energy and digital media smarts to fit into the business offering, have a clean and verifiable sales track record, know and enjoy the industry and be prepared to work hard and ‘do the doing’ of creating an ongoing pipeline of contacts, leads, and opportunities for conversion.

You will present well, love being in front of prospective clients, winning the deal and building sustainable business partnerships.

The breakdown

We are looking for someone who…

  • Has a minimum 5 years in new business revenue growth
  • Has industry-relevant experience (Advertising, Digital, Media. MarTech/AdTech)
  • Is well networked and proven in their field

Some key responsibilities and attributes are:

  • Lives and recognises digital & media excellence
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong processes and drive
  • Able to hold their own presenting to MD's, Heads of Department & C-Suite level
  • Deal opener & closer with a view to building long-term sustainable partnerships
  • Able to write new business pitches, presentations, and general correspondence. 
  • An expert at building new relationships
  • Strong ability to communicate with clarity and be talking value, value, value
  • Commercial and client-focused
  • Attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Ability to read, write, analyse, and interpret information from a variety of sources, such as industry journals, media, reports, etc
  • Ability to effectively present results to senior management, and other key internal stakeholders
  • Quick and proficient in MS Office, spreadsheets, CRM and database software, E-mail, etc
