NYLD 14 - Secondary Schools Notebook

About Project

National Young Leaders Days (NYLD) are the largest and longest running leadership event for primary, intermediate and secondary school students. For the 2014 events I chose the theme Dream, Dare, Develop (3D theme). I creative directed and implemented the anaglyph 3D in the printed material and assisted in the creative direction of the video. The NYLD brand guidelines specify a CMYK colour choice for the theme each year but because magenta, yellow and blue have been used in previous years we chose to use a combination of red and cyan. This allowed us to take advantage of anaglyph 3D techniques in the print and digital imagery. The technique worked well in print and digital media. The information booklet was sent to primary and secondary schools around New Zealand with 3D glasses to take advantage of the 3D graphics. The opening video was played to thousands of students who all recieved 3D glasses when they arrived along with a notebook with a 3D cover. With this theme we were able to achieve a high level of interaction between the students and presenters, and as a result the key messages were credited with being especially memorable.
