As it turns out, every regional readers and writers festival looks pretty similar. They all use the same promotional material supplied by the acts to promote these festivals without too much thought about what their festival is at its core. Escape festival came to us wanting to differentiate themselves from the competition. We developed an identity that was based around learning the whole story, differing opinions, and getting outside of our comfort zones. It was bold and beautiful, and didn't rely on bloody promotional photos.
